Dresses To Decor: Roberta Roller Rabbit Edition

Hello Bunnies! Welcome to Dresses To Décor, an ongoing series that explores labels with equally fabulous clothing and home lines. Today's post is about one of my favorite designers, Roberta Roller Rabbit. She is a D2D superstar because she uses many of the same prints for both.

So, who is Roberta Roller Rabbit? It’s #GirlBoss Roberta Freymann, who started the company in 2003. The bunny branding was inspired by a scrap of fabric she found in India. Every single garment they make is unique because the fabric is printed from wood blocks that were hand-carved in India. It's even more artisanal than craft brewed beer. From dresses (or kurtas) to duvets and dog beds, this bunny teaches us to never underestimate the power of the print.

Naolin

The Naolin Inez dress is fabulous on its own, but can also be layered all year round. For a boho look in the winter, wear it underneath a thick white sweater. In the spring and fall, chic up your Inez with a denim jacket. It even works as a swimsuit coverup in the summer.

Naolin also looks beautiful in any bedroom, as a focal point with this bedding set or as an accent with pillows. Just don't fall asleep in your dress. That's Naolin overload!

Jemina

Jemina is a vibrant print available in several colors including pink, blue, and red. I love the Jemina kurta! If you aren't familiar with kurtas (no judgement, I had no idea what they were until last week), they are a traditional Indian style tunic top made of a loose, breathable cotton.

The Jemina quilt can dress up a plain couch and make those Netflix binges so comfortable, your SmartTv will probably ask if you are still watching. (On that note, does anyone else feel like they're being judged when that happens?) As with the rest of these prints, an accent pillow is available incase you don't want to go full-on Jemina.

Monkey

Throw a jungle party and have the whole family monkey around in matching pajamas for men, women, children and even babies. A classic Roberta Roller Rabbit print, Monkey is fun and whimsical.

For your youngest guests, the monkey sleepover bag is perfect for camping inside and an easier alternative to an air mattress (I always have a panic attack trying to seal those things up after removing the pump) or trundle bed (have you ever tried to pop up one of those things without needing to see a chiropractor the next day?).

But don't let your furry friends feel left out. Puppy or kitty will delightfully pass out on this crate liner, which you could probably use as a regular pet bed. Seriously, if my bulldog didn't have a tendency to pee on them, this picture would be of my living room.

Amanda

How could I fail to mention my namesake print? I'm all about this super stylish kimono. I also love the Bondi Beach Bag. Not just because it's cute, but because it's machine washable. If you frequently read this blog, you know anything that is machine washable gets extra bonus points.

You can also Amandafy your tabletop with these fun placemats and cloth napkins.

Chasca

Chasca feels like chevron 2.0 to me. A year-round print, you can wear the wool scarf to brighten up a winter white coat, or maximize your comfort with this fab maxi dress in the summer.

Chasca can also transform a monochromatic bedroom with a matching duvet and pillow case set. Then you can accessorize the room in a variety of color choices. The possibilities to have lots of colorful things that will ultimately collect dust are endless.

Furniture

Roberta Roller Rabbit has some of the most unique furniture I've ever seen. When I looked at the collection in person at their store on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, my jaw literally dropped and I told my mother who was shopping with me, to take notes.

With its eclectic style, featuring crossed stainless steel legs and a mother-of-pearl top, the writing desk is absolutely my favorite piece in the collection. Add an antique mirror and it can transform into a vanity.

The beside table can also be a couchside table, or accent table. Don't let labels be limiting, it looks beautiful anywhere in your home.

The nesting table set is a unique addition to a traditional living room. Because it's a set of two tables, you can use them separately, making this a more cost-affective purchase (or a good way to justify buying it).

F- It Fridays: Your Weekly Dose of Retail Therapy (Throw Blankets Edition)

Most of us have had a really challenging week in one way or another. It’s often during these times when we want to throw in the towel, throw our electronics out of a window (but please don’t) or just throw ourselves on the couch and cry. So, for this F-It Friday post, we're going to look at some stylish throw blankets because retail therapy helps. (Oh, and if retail therapy doesn't quite do the trick, here are some other things to try.)

Lulu likes to steal my throw.

This Burberry throw is beyond luxurious, but in a totally subtle way. And what could be softer than cashmere?

MISSONI SIMONE THROW

Missoni’s Simone throw is one of the more reasonably priced throws made by the legendary Italian label. Fun, but sophisticated, it adds color and texture to any couch or chair.

Fabulous, yet practical, this faux fur throw from Anthropologie is available in grey, white and navy.

NORDSTROM AT HOME GRAND CABLE THROW

No matter what style your home is, from traditional to modern, you can’t go wrong with a cable knit throw like this one from Nordstrom

THE WELL-APPOINTED HOUSE HERRINGBONE PLUSH FRINGED THROW

I love this herringbone throw from The Well-Appointed House. Available in sixteen different colors, it can be monogrammed or customized with a message. It also makes a great holiday or housewarming gift.

Dresses to Decor: Lilly Pulitzer Edition

Welcome to From Dresses to Décor! This is a new series exploring the home lines of my favorite designers. Today, I’m going to talk about Lilly Pulitzer.

Lilly Pulitzer famously said, “Being happy never goes out of style,” and that is exactly how I feel whenever I wear anything from this brand. I’ll never forget the moment I discovered the Lilly Pulitzer for the first time. I was at Bloomingdales on 59th street in New York with my mom when I laid my eyes on a on a pink palm tree skirt. I didn’t recognize the label because I was in middle school. As a lover of prints and bright colors, I was stopped in my tracks. I asked my mother who Lilly Pulitzer was and where this line had been for my entire life. Was she hiding it from me? She laughed and bought me a skirt (which I still have and yes, it still fits) and told me not to tell my father. Years later I’m still a Lilly lover.  It’s the label closest to my heart. And no, my father never found out about the skirt.

If you didn't know, the late Lilly Pulitzer was a #GirlBoss before it was a thing. A Palm Beach socialite who opened up a juice stand, Lilly kept staining her dresses with juice, so she designed a print shift dress to hide to stains. It turned out more people wanted her dress than her juice.

Lilly’s iconic prints translate perfectly from dresses to décor. We all know that adding a print to an outfit instantly changes the look from drab to fab. The same rule applies to decorating a room.  Adding a print can change the look and feel of an entire space. A few years ago, Lilly Pulitzer had furniture and bedding lines, but unfortunately, they’ve both been discontinued.

Currently, Lilly Pulitzer has a beautiful fabric collaboration with Lee Joffa. There are so many options and the possibilities are endless. You could have slipcovers made and revitalize a couch. Or you could do it yourself if you are crafty. (I’m not. Notice how there is no DIY whatsoever on this blog. It’s for a reason.) Or you could re-upholster a chair, which is probably an easier project.

So many beautiful fabrics. How do you choose?

Lee Joffa also recently introduced thirteen Lilly wallpapers. I dream of having a beautiful dressing room with Lilly papered walls. Unfortunately, I currently rent and barely have a walk-in closet. One day...

Pillows are to couches what scarves are to outfits. If you aren’t ready to go full-on Lilly, these pillows let you incorporate just a touch of print into your space.

Even the smallest touch of Lilly can reminds me of drinking cocktails in Palm Beach, which is why I just adore these coasters.

Speaking of cocktails, you could serve them on these lacquer trays. You can also use the trays on your coffee table to house your remotes and coasters. In the bedroom, they could make the perfect spot for perfume or pretty cosmetics.

You can bring Lilly outdoors with these cute beverage totes. They could also be kept outside as a flip-flop bucket. If you don’t have a backyard or patio, you could use one to hold magazines in your living room or bathroom. They also make a great housewarming gift

Who doesn't love candles in pretty holders? I recently learned an easy way to re-use the them. When the candle is finished burning, let it cool and then leave it in the freezer for a few minutes. The wax will spoon out easily. This is so eco-friendly and a great way to hold pens at your desk or makeup brushes at your vanity.
