F-It Fridays (Your Weekly Dose Of Retail Therapy): I Love Rompers, But Not When I Have To Pee Edition

Welcome to F-it Fridays, your weekly(ish) dose of retail therapy, where I recommend things you should buy for yourself. After all, you made it through another five days, so you certainly deserve something.

This week, we’re romping into spring with (you guessed it) rompers. They’re the perfect combination of stylish and sporty, except for those moments when you really have pee and getting them off can kind of be a close call. Just being honest. Still, the slight inconvenience is totally worth it. Also, not that comfort is ever a real factor for me, but I think rompers are way more comfey than dresses or pants, which is which kind of strange, because they are essentially a combination of both. Here are few of my favorites:

Top Shop: Tie Bandeau Jumpsuit

Jumpsuits aren't technically rompers, but they're part of the greater romper metro area. I love the Tie Bandeau Jumpsuit from Top Shop. Maybe it’s because I miss my mom right now (she lives in New York and I live in Los Angeles), but this jumpsuit reminds me of things my mother used to wear when i was a little kid. I really wish should would have kept her vintage ones for me, but Top Shop will have to suffice. Sophisticated and chic, this jumpsuit would look incredibly fabulous with a statement necklace from Sterling Forever.

Revolve: Del Rio Off The Shoulder Romper

I love this romper from Del Rio. With its bell sleeves and the off the shoulder neckline, it’s extra on trend this season.

Lilly Pulitzer: Tiki Wrap Romper

It’s not exactly a secret that I adore Lilly Pulitzer, especially this Tiki Wrap Romper. The print reminds me of cocktails, vacations and sunshine. The long sleeves and shorts combo is just right for spring days and breezy summer nights.

Nordstom: Misguided Ladder Stitch Lace Romper

Misguided’s lace romper is perfect for an evening romp. With a sexy, plunging neckline, it might just become your new little black dress. Don’t be afraid to wear it heels and accessories such as this delicate Cartier inspired bangle from Sterling Forever.

Forever 21 Lemon Print Cover Up Romper

Seriously, I’m obsessed with this lemon romper from Forever 21. It’s maybe the cutest thing I’ve seen all season and at less than $20, there are no excuses not to buy one. I’m seriously ordering one as soon as I am finished with this post because LEMONS! If this is a little summery for your spring season (it's summer 85% of the year where I live), wear it with a cropped denim jacket

Alice + Olivia Richie Romper Gown

I don’t know if Alice + Olivia’s Richie Romper Gown is a romper, a gown or just a work of fashion magic, but I know I’m completely in love. Wear it and you will stop traffic. You will not be able to get through an event without being completed annoyed by people asking you about your outfit. If this could win an Oscar for Best Romper, it totally would.

Free People Nolita Romper

This cut out romper from Free People needs to be cut into your wardrobe immediately. The gorgeous plum color and fitted legs really stand out.

Dear Men, Don't Be Basic. Here Are The Valentine's Day Gifts That Will Make Her Swoon

Dear Men,

I know you’re reading this. No, seriously, a company did market research and long story short, I know men read my blog. I also know that 40% of my Instagram following is men because analytics. That being said, thank you for reading. I assume you’re on this page because you haven’t bought your girlfriend, wife or significant other a Valentine’s Day gift yet. Don’t worry, you still have time to not be a bad boyfriend, husband or significant other. Let me share a secret with you. Flowers and candy because it's the third Wednesday in April and you love her are awesome. But for V-Day, those things look basic. Don’t be that guy. You need to buy her something unique. Here are eight gifts that say, "I love you and actually made an effort."

Datebox

datebox1

Datebox is a subscription box that keeps on giving. It has almost everything you need to have a date night without leaving the house. Curated for maximum fun, the current box includes a recipe and ingredients for cake pops. Who doesn’t love cake pops? It also has a canvas and acrylic paints so you can make something beautiful together. Past boxes have included sushi making kits (sans fish because it’s not Blue Apron), smores, card games, a dance DVD, etc. Datebox is good for couples in all stages of relationships because everyone needs a date night. Men, if you just started seeing someone and are terrified a Valentine’s Day gift might scare her off, Datebox is totally non-threatening. She will blush at your creativity and it will help you two get to know each other better. I also think it’s a great gift to give new parents who might not be able to have a date night otherwise.

Maria Shireen Glitz Trio

I’ve mentioned Maria Shireen hair tie bracelets more than once on this blog because I’m obsessed. (On that note, if anyone wants to buy me something…) Popular with the Hollywood fashionista set, they were featured in the gift bag at the exclusive #IndieLounge at Sundance last month. I love the Glitz Trio because it’s sparkly, but Maria Shireen has a variety of styles any woman who is constantly searching for a hair tie (so like all of us) will appreciate.

Ali Levine X Sterling Forever Open Gold Pointed Ear Jackets

Ali Levine X Sterling Forever Earings

Celebrity stylist Ali Levine's Sterling Forever collab is super chic. Her open pointed ear jackets are fun, funky and totally affordable. It’s also like giving her two pairs of earrings in one because the smaller triangles split off from the larger ones.

Parfait Charlotte Bra & High Waist Brief Set

If your lady is blessed with a larger cup size and has trouble finding bras that fit (not that you are complaining), she will absolutely swoon over Parfait's Charlotte bra and high waist brief set. Available in sizes 28-44 D-J, this will make her feel sexy and supported both by you and the bra.

Cosabella Speakeasy Body Suit

Cosabella's Speakeasy Body Suit is something she will want to put on for you to take off. It's stylish, sexy and great for a woman who isn't into the traditional teddy.

Kilian Playing With The Devil Spray

Playing With The Devil by Kilian actually smells like heaven. And it comes with a stylish clutch she can use when you take her out to a nice dinner. Yes, it's Valentine's Day, so you've got to do that too.

Catbird Tiny Corsage 14 Karat Rose Gold Bracelet

A classic style, Catbird's Tiny Corsage Bracelet has a 0.35 karat diamond nestled in trendy rose gold. This little diamond will show you have a big heart because all of Catbird's jewelry is responsibly made. But she probably knows both of those things already.

Kneipp Lavender Massage Oil

If you want to make Valentine's Day extra special, why not surprise her with a massage? Add some Kneipp Relaxing Lavender Massage Oil to show you thought about the entire thing in advance. Bonus points for that!

Seasonal FOMO, Wardrobe Anxiety and Getting #OOTD Ready With My Favorite Jewelry From Sterling Forever

One thing I love about Los Angeles is that it’s warm and sunny all year round. This means I can sip coffee on my terrace almost every morning, hike on Thanksgiving, and sit out at the pool pretty much whenever I want. While I can’t say I don’t love the semi-eternal summer of this city, I have a little bit of FOMO when I see pictures of people in their Fall coats and boots. That’s just not going to happen for me, so transitioning to a seasonal wardrobe can be a bit of a challenge. While I’ll rarely look truly Fall, I do what I can by choosing darker clothes, rotating long sleeves back into my repertoire and incorporating new accessories into my ensembles.

One of my favorite accessory brands is Sterling Forever, which I recently discovered through my friend, Ali Levine, who is a celebrity stylist. She designs and curates her own collection for SF.  They have high quality, but affordable pieces (and bonus, there are always promo codes). The styles are always on trend for the season, but you’ll still want to wear them for years to come.

Great accessories do more than just complete an outfit. At least for me, they prevent me from overthinking what I’m wearing and changing approximately 400 times before I leave the house. All I need to do is coordinate an SF bracelet or necklace to the first (okay, maybe second) thing I put on and then I’m #OOTD ready.

Here are my four favorite SF pieces for fall along with how I incorporate them into my wardrobe.

I can’t get enough of this black Layered Bar Bracelet. One feature I love is the toggle clasp. Obviously, it’s beautiful, but it also makes it possible to put on the bracelet without having to ask for help. Have you ever screamed in frustration trying to put on a bracelet when there is no one around to assist? Okay, maybe that’s just me. The toggle makes the entire thing so not an ordeal and just a one-person operation. It also helps the bracelet stay secure, so you don’t have to experience that nagging anxiety about your jewelry falling off. This can be a huge problem among bracelet-wearers. I really think more bracelets in this world need toggle clasps. Designers, are you listening?

I love coordinating my bracelet with a casual dress like the one I’m wearing here or even jeans and a t-shirt. It would really compliment a pair of black leather boots or booties.

I am borderline obsessed with this gold and pink suede tassel necklace. Such a versatile piece, it’s like having at least three necklaces in one because there are so many ways to tie it. The rich-colored suede and gold are warm and sophisticated for fall. If you’re not a pink person, it’s also available in navy, aqua, cream, grey and black. I get so many compliments whenever I wear it, I might have to buy another color. Even my dog, Lulu insisted on borrowing it from me. Who wore it better?

And yes, I know I’m wearing a summer caftan in this picture, but I’m at a pool, are you expecting me to wear cashmere? Hey, at least it’s long sleeved.

Ali told me I had to get this Cobalt Mosaic Necklace. When a celeb stylist gives you advice, you listen. And I am glad I did. The epitome of a statement necklace, it really stands out. I usually wear it with a blue top, but it would also look fab with a freshly ironed white button-down shirt, making the ensemble a little more fun and slightly less conservative.
