PrettyLittleThing is one of those places to shop that just makes life easier. They have a big selection but it's divided into different curated collections, so you can actually find what you what. There's just one problem... You'll want everything!

Here are a few of my favorite outfits from their Vacation Shop.

IMG_5959.JPG

The White Bardot Plunge Maxi dress is perfect for any summer event (except for someone else's wedding, obviously). It's long, light and breezy.

One thing I really love about the dress is that its entire look can change with an accessory. I added Palm Leaf Print Headband to make the outfit more casual.

20180801_005115.jpg

Speaking of Palm Prints. How cute is this Pink Chiffon Palm Print Plunge Crop Blouse? It literally looks like a vacation. The print is so fun and just perfect for summer. You can wear it with shorts, jeans or anything. You can also plunge it a lot more than I did with some fashion tape.

Don't be confused—PrettyLittleThing's Burnt Orange Chevron Price Lace Maxi Dress isn't Missoni or 70's vintage. But it certainly looks like it could be either one. I'm obsessed with this dress and it's absolutely gorgeous on!

Thank you so much to PrettyLittleThing for the beautiful outfits.

Summer Vacation Packing Checklist

Vacations are fun. Packing is a nightmare. Every year you say you aren’t going to overpack. LIES! It never happens. Instead of throwing EVERYTHING into your suitcase and potentially getting into an argument with the TSA, which isn’t exactly difficult to do under any circumstances, just look at this list instead. If you are in need of any vacation essentials you don't have already, don't worry, I've provided some suggestions. And if you scroll to the bottom of this post, I have a little present you for. A checklist you can print out or screen shot for easy reference. I'm the best! I know!

A Unique Suitcase

Everyone has a black suitcase, which can lead to baggage carousel confusion from hell. I don’t care if you have a cute ribbon on yours. So does everyone else. That trick is so five years ago. Do you really want to risk someone accidentally taking your bag home, ruining your vacation and potentially your life?

Luggage Tags

Not the ones you get for free because they easily tear off. Buy real ones. You can thank me when your lost luggage is found in less than seven hours.

A Large Tote To Carry On

Keep your sanity by keeping everything in one place.

A Laundry Bag

Don’t be that person who mixes their cleans and dirties. It’s unsanitary. Laundry bags also help keep your bedroom or hotel room neat(ish) and cleaner.

Shoe Bags

There is nothing more gross than putting dirty shoes on clean clothing. If your shoes didn’t come with a bag, buy yourself a set. Even use plastic bags if need be, but do SOMETHING!

A Luggage Scale

If you’ve ever had to open your suitcase at Check-In to stuff your clothes into your carry-on while having a panic attack or have been ripped off with overweight luggage fees, you need this. And airlines, if you are reading this: You charging me an extra $75 because my bag weighs 51lbs instead of 50lbs doesn’t make the flight any safer, so start calling the fee what it is-- The Executive Prada Bag Fund.

Underwear

You can never bring too much underwear, especially if you are planning on having as much sex as humanly possible. It takes up like zero space. MORE! MORE! NOT KIDDING-- MORE!

Stylish Shoes You May Or May Not Be Able To Walk In

If you are trying to pack less, you only really need two pairs. One strictly for night and one for day/night. But let’s be honest, you will bring at least three pairs, probably four, most likely five.

Pool Shoes

Because sand and water are not stiletto friendly. Wear them to the airport so you aren’t that a-hole in heels.

A Hat

Not to sound like your mom, but sunburns suck and make you look older. Protect yourself before you wreck yourself.

Sneakers

If you don’t bring sneakers, you definitely won’t workout on vacation.

Socks

You can’t wear sneakers without them. Unless you want to be gross and destroy your feet. Don't forget grippy socks, if you plan to do Pilates.

Sleepwear

Even if you sleep naked on the reg, you might not want to in a cold hotel room or if you are visiting friends.

Swimwear

Don’t rely on the hotel gift shop. More is more!

Gentle Cycle Wash

You don’t want your cute new bikini to fade or get ruined. I’m big on clothing care, so I always bring gentle cycle wash, either in packets or in a travel bottle. Hotel shampoo also works in a pinch.

Caftans

I love caftans because they can take you from the pool to brunch. They are also great for passing out mid-day.

Maxi Dresses

I love maxi dresses because they look cute during the day and easily dress up at night with jewelry and accessories.

Fun Jewelry

I love traveling with costume jewelry because you don’t have to worry about it getting stolen. I’m also not entirely sold on the safety of hotel safes. This also dresses up casual clothing so you can wear the same dress more than once, if need be.

A Clutch

Nothing screams tourist more than schlepping your entire life in a large handbag. Let it go and downscale.

Cute Tops

Consider your destination when choosing even basic clothes. You probably won’t wear the same style in The Hamptons as you would in the Pacific Northwest.

Versatile Bottoms

Jeans, linen pants and shorts are all you need.

Activewear

You don’t need to go crazy, but two or three outfits should suffice. Remember, you can get away with wearing leggings twice if you don't swaeat too much in them.

A Classic Denim Jacket

Sometimes it gets cold at night or you have one lousy day. Be prepared.

So Last Week... Things I Read That Are Totally Worth Your Time

Happy Sunday! I read so many good posts online this week. From food to travel, style and beauty, if you only read five posts on the Internet today that are not on my blog, make it these. I promise you will be inspired.

Dope+Broke: 13 Top Bloggers & Podcast Hosts’ Favorite Sites To Shop Bathing Suits & Swim Cover Ups This Summer

This was one of my favorite posts of the week and not just because I was featured in it. The summer is not over and if you are still looking for the perfect bathing suit or cover up, Dope+Broke shares great style tips from bloggers and podcasters including Annabelle Desisto, Lauryn Evarts and of course me!

Fit Fab Well By Chanel: Fab Smoothie

My friend Chanel makes the most delicious and healthy smoothies. I’m obsessed with them. If you need a super healthy, quick breakfast or lunch, these smoothies are game changers. They also keep you full forever. Seriously, whenever I have one for breakfast, which is often, I’m not hungry for lunch until 3:00.

Elle Décor: Betsey Johnson’s AIR BNB in Mexico

Are you looking for feminine décor inspo that won’t scare the dudes away? Look no further than designer Betsy Johnson’s Betsyvilla in Guerrero, Mexico. This house is so pretty but also really sophisticated. Does anyone else feel a Dresses To Décor coming on?

The Teacher Diva: How I Get My Everyday Loose Curls

I give the Teacher Diva an A+ in hair. This blogger has seriously perfect curls and shares her secrets in this super easy tutorial.

A Model Recommends: Is This My Perfect Hair?

On the other end of the spectrum, a model shares about her personal hair struggles and how her current haircut, which she doesn’t blowdry (OMG, that is my #goal in life) works well for her lifestyle.

F-It Fridays: PrettyLittleThing Edition

I know it’s been a while since I’ve done an F-It Friday. But then again, I have a podcast called Things We’re Too Lazy To Blog About, so you can clearly understand my priorities here. But hey, it’s the summer, which means most of you are vacationing or staycationing anyway. And if you’ve been trying to figure out what to wear for these events (or even non-events like date night or grabbing drinks your friends), I have an easy solution. The PrettyLittleThing Vacation Shop has lots of adorable options. Also, everything is super affordable, so you can treat yourself sans guilt!

PLT even sent me a few outfits so I could show you how cute everything is. While I did not personally wear any of these pretty little things on vacation (because I did not go on one), I drove twenty minutes to the neighborhood of Silver Lake, Los Angeles to take these pictures. So, close enough. Also, it was literally 1000 degrees out, so it was almost tropical. And by tropical I mean desert-like. You get it…. I’m trying here…

The Bardot Mini Dress is the perfect combo of sexy and casual. You can wear it shopping during the day and then go straight to date night. Your date will swoon over the Bardot. Probably more than once.

The Cecillia Ruffle Blue Embroidered Shift Dress is a trendy take on the classic look and ever so slightly modest.

IMG_6930.JPG

These Leaf Print Slinky Wide Leg Trousers are great with a cotton top, paired with a bikini or even over a one-piece swimsuit.

You know those days when it's so hot outside you literally want to walk around naked but you can't because you're afraid to break the law, get arrested and then get stuck in a cell without air conditioning? Those days were made for the Ammie Grey Floral Wrap Dress. It's so light, you'll stay cool and cuff-free.

The Leaf Frill Cold Shoulder Shift Dress is equally cute and comfortable. You can totally wear this to a BBQ, go home and then pass out on your couch-- no changing necessary.

The Pink Floral Cold Shoulder Chiffon Playsuit is perfect for playing around on warm days. It also comes off really easily, so if you avoid rompers because of the whole peeing thing, know you're good to go in this one.

Yes, the gold slide sandals are also from PrettyLittleThing.

These Jeanie White Extreme Ripped Mom Denim Shorts would probably give your mom a heart attack. But she would appreciate the fact that they're high waisted.

F-it Fridays: Summer Product Loving

Happy Friday! With summer in full swing, I’ve been switching up my beauty routine. Here are some game-changing beauty products to help you beat the heat this summer.

Drybar Hold Me Hair Clips

NO STRANDS LEFT BEHIND! DryBar Hold Me clips are like having a personal assistant who holds back your hair. They make blowouts so much easier and don’t cause bumps or damage like a rubber band can. I’ve even worn them to Pilates because they don’t dig into your scalp.

But I must give credit where it is due. I discovered these magic clips through Lauryn Evarts and her classic sleep bun post. Btw, if you are a Skinny Confidential fan, check out our podcast with Lauryn and Michael.

Living Proof Prime Style Extender

You know when you do a great job styling your own hair and then you wake up the next day looking like you stuck your finger in an electrical outlet? Living Proof Prime Style Extender prevents that. After towel drying, apply this product and comb through. Then wait a few minutes and apply your regular hair oil or styling product. Your blowout lasts longer, so you do not have to wash or re-style as often.

Sweat Mineral Foundation Powder Jar

jar_2_1024x1024.jpg

I’ve written about Sweat sticks before and even interviewed the amazing female athletes who started this line, but their new powder jar has changed my summer. The jar makes it super easy to apply this SPF 30 mineral foundation with the brush of your choice, in seconds. No more waiting for sunscreen to absorb or using a blender to apply foundation. I like to wear it on days when I workout and to outdoor events like BBQS where I need to protect my face, but don’t want to wear a ton of makeup. It's also nice that my eyes don't burn from dripping sunsceen.

Pevonia Lumafirm Lift & Glow Eye Contour

Who wants a heavy eye cream during the summer? Not me! That’s why I’m obsessed with Pevonia Lumafirm Lift & Glow Eye Contour. It has a super light texture and fresh scent. Made with watermelon fruit extract, this product couldn’t be anymore summer appropriate if you tried.

Foreo Iris

If you’ve tried everything to get rid of puffy eyes to no avail, then you need to stop crying about it (also crying does NOT help) and pick up Foreo’s Iris device. It massages your under eye bags away, increases circulation, and helps eye cream or gel work better. Use it for just a minute a day.

Paul & Joe Gel Blush

French brand Paul & Joe has an absolutely beautiful cosmetics line. One of my favorite finds is the Gel Blush. You apply it with a light touch of your fingertips. The product feels so light and airy. It’s perfect for daytime when you want a subtle color on the cheek.

Bioderma Photoderm After Sun SOS

There’s nothing like a cooling after sun spray post beach or pool. I love Bioderma Photoderm After Sun SOS. It’s easy to apply and never has a sticky or gummy texture. The fresh scent makes me feel clean even if I still have sand in inappropriate places. It also really prolongs my tan in a noticeable way.

Patriot League: Red White & You

I’ve never really been into dressing for holidays. Even when I was a kid, I thought wearing black and orange on Halloween looked ridiculous. In fact, every time I wear orange with anything dark, I always ask myself if I look like it's October 31st. I personally don't understand the ugly sweater craze. Why would you wear something ugly on purpose that you paid money for? Furthermore, wearing red on Valentine’s Day always feels desperate to me. But Fourth of July is different. You have choices! It's the only time when combining red, white and blue can be red, white and well....you. There is a lot of potential for chic and you can combine all or just two of those colors. And unlike ugly sweaters, you can wear your outfit more than once this summer.. Here are some cute July Fourth ideas that will have you looking stylish all summer long.

PS: If you are looking for some really cool patriotic for t-shirts for men, check out veteran run-company Ranger Up.

DG2 by Diane Gilman Off-the-Shoulder Lace Trim Dress

Yes, that is me wearing this. I love this dress from Diane Gilman. It’s stylish, comfortable and flatters all figures. If you are going to a pool party, you can comfortably wear a bikini or even some one-pieces underneath.  Accessorize with red, white or both.

American Eagle Keyhole Romper

I’m also wearing this look. I love rompers, especially this one from American Eagle. It’s super on sale right now, so get yourself a July 4th treat. You can't go wrong with gingham at a BBQ.

Madewell Stretch-Denim Overalls

There’s nothing more American than denim, especially these Madewell overalls. They are the perfect choice if it's not going to be the warmest day and or an early trip to the farmer's market.

Hunza G Greta Bow-Embellished Seersucker Swimsuit

This one-piece is RED HOT. It is also one size and fits anyone who wears sizes XS through large, which is so convenient because I always choose the wrong sized swimwear when ordering online.

Forever21 Cutout Striped High-Low Dress

I love a cutout dress, especially a high-low one. This dress from Forever21 is couture-ish and dramatic. Wear it with cute red heels.

Ralph Lauren (No Relation) Cropped Cotton Mesh Polo

I love a classic white polo forever, especially this modern update. It works with everything and nothing.

F-it Fridays: Beach Bag Please Edition

We need to talk about bag appropriateness. I can't tell you how often I go to the pool or the beach and see people with inappropriate handbags. Okay, I totally sound judgy, but it's not what you think. I just feel like people are mistreating their precious purses. Should I call APS (Accessories Protective Services)? After all, mixing the wrong things can be dangerous. Ever drink shots of vodka before wine? Nope, you were not fine. Mixing an expensive accessory made from something not meant to get wet or sandy with water, sand, unknown sea creatures and most likely over-enthusiastic children sounds like a recipe for a fashion disaster. So maybe it's time to protect your Louis, Kate or Goyard by leaving them at home and invest in a bag made that's made just for the beach (or pool or lake, you get what I mean). Here are a few of my favorites.

00092373-02.jpg

Straw pom pom is the it style this season. Score this adorable steal from Forever 21.

If you think of straw as more of a drink accessory than a fashion accessory, Lilly Pulitzer's Bohemian Beach Tote will be your fav piece of arm candy this summer. Lilly Pulitzer prints are so classic and will look stylish for years to come.

6BDS23NAT_NAT_FRONT.jpg

Trina Turk's Barbados Tote is perfect for brunch or to put in the basket of a bicycle. I don't know why and I don't even really like bicycles.

I always take a small clutch to the beach to keep my phone, wallet and a lipgloss in. This pineapple pouch by Kayu reminds me of a summer cocktail or a fruit salad. Hopefully, the former.

wawa.jpg

Don't take an uncool cooler to the beach or stash your sandwiches (or tequila) in a basic grocery bag. Instead, use the super chill watermelon cooler bag from Ban.do. It also might be fun to take watermelon out of the watermelon bag and made a fun Instragram story about it. I feel a Boomerang coming on!

You can't go wrong with a classic nautical style beach tote. This striped bag from ASOS fits everything you need for a chic beach day. It also coordinates well with most swimwear styles.

Do you struggle to find a place for your wet stuff every time you go to the beach? You're welcome. Problem solved

F-it Fridays: Hotel Chic Edition

us grant .jpg

Happy Weekend and beginning of summer! Is everyone ready to GTFO? I know I am. Whether you are going for a short weekend jaunt, a day trip or an actual vacay, we all know how annoying packing and unpacking is. Here are a few of my favorite essentials to make the trip easier and more efficient. Treat yourself because F-it, It’s Friday, you deserve it!

If you’ve ever put shoes or dirty laundry in a clean suitcase and felt totally uncomfortable with it, you need to get these canvas bags from Miss A. There’s one for shoes, laundry (stop scrambling for plastic hotel bags) and lingerie/swimwear. But, my personal favorite is the bag for beauty tools. The last time I traveled I was so afraid of packing my hot curling iron in my suitcase that I (allegedly) wrapped the barrel in a washcloth I took from my hotel. Luckily, I don’t have to do that again. Did I mention all of these are just $1.00 each? Also, my apologies to the U.S. Grant in San Diego (pictured above, by the way).

I don’t care if it’s old school, I still love Longchamp Le Pliage bags. I challenge anyone to find something better for travel. These bags are light as can be, affordable, durable and available in tons of colors. You can take them to the beach or dinner in Paris, France or Paris, Texas. Take your bag as a carry-on for the plane or stuff it in your suitcase to bring extra things home.

I’m all about Sole Society’s Lacie Faux Leather Duffle Bag weekender. There are lots of reasons why I like faux leather. It’s cruelty-free (yay for bonus karma points). This material also tends to be lighter than the real thing. Isn't your stuff heavy enough? Also, leather bags make me really nervous because I am always afraid it’s going to get scratched and ruin my life.

_13130476.jpg

Build me up Baby Buttercup. I love Drybar’s Baby Buttercup travel hair dryer. Don’t rely on your hotel to have an adequate hairdryer and risk having a bad hair vacation. By the way, If are struggling to pack all of your beauty stuff, this post will save your life, or at least your night serum.

There are so many different ways to wear Lilly Pulitzer’s colorful Seaspray wrap. You can use it as a light blanket on the plane, as a scarf with pants, as a sarong or even a dress on the beach. It’s a must-have if you are trying to pack lightly.

F-It Fridays: Your Weekly Dose of Retail Therapy (Casual AF to Causal Chic Edition)

Me with Heidi Nazarudin of The Ambitionista Photo by Sabrina Hill

I know I’ve written a lot about rompers and it’s because I’m obsessed with them. I thought for this F-it Friday, I’d share one of my favorite new ones with you and how to create an entire outfit around it. You know, taking the romper from I- romped-around-until-4-in-the-moring-and-just-woke-up-so-I’m-casual-AF to Casual Chic.

So, I am not normally an American Eagle shopper. In fact, I can’t even tell you where one is. But, I was half asleep and very likely drunk on Instagram when I saw this one someone’s post. I wish I could remember whose account it was, but I don’t. I had to have it. Luckily, I didn’t even have to get out of bed to grab a credit card and buy it (which probably wasn’t going to happen anyway) because it turns out AE takes Paypal. Yay! It’s been one of my favorite pieces ever since. And it’s currently on sale

Here are some ideas to dress up and accessorize this romper or any romper.

0471968084652_247x329.jpg

I love a classic Jack Rogers Sandal or if you need a little height, a wedge

Throw on a jean jacket, especially if you are wearing a romper at night. I love this one from Madewell. Everyone should have a classic jean jacket in their wardrobe. If you don’t have one, I can’t imagine how you stay warm on breezy summer nights or when some annoying person blasts the AC.

Add a fun with a tote like this one from Draper James. I love this straw bag for summer. It’s causal, but put together. Because it’s roomy and more importantly lined, you can actually put things in it that aren’t your wallet, keys and half a lip gloss. I would even use it as a carry-on bag for a beach vacay.

Consider a tassel fob to look extra put together. Nothing says, “I actually care about details,” more than this tiny accessory.

Because rompers are causal, a little jewelry will let others know you didn’t just roll out of bed, even if you did. I like a turquoise necklace for the summer, particularly this Judith Ripka Baguette Doublet Pendant Necklace

9453015_fpx.tif.jpeg

Always have a bangle on your wrist. Kate Spade’s Feather Bangle coordinates well.

Have a great weekend! And don’t forget, F-it, it’s Friday, so buy yourself a present for getting through the week!
